& happy

So much research has gone into this by so many studies over so many
years. It all says the same thing. And most people miss it. This is
what our scientists tell us will make us live long, healthy, happy
lives.
- Choose your parents wisely (Genetics is a significant
factor in how long you live and how healthy you will be. So does living
peacefully with both your mother and father while growing up.)
- Get enough sleep (not enough sleep puts stress on the
body and shortens lifespan)
- Get enough exercise (moderate exercise improves health)
- Don't get fat (obesity degrades health and shortens
lifespan)
- Eat a health diet (potatoes are food, sugar &
modified potato starch are not)
- Forgive everything (Resentment & grudges steal
happiness almost completely, erode health, and shorten lifespan.
Perversely, the other guy is going happily about his life. Harboring
bitterness is like taking poison and hoping the other guy dies.)
- Bless others instead of trying to get your way (People
who help and give to others have a significantly happier outlook, as
blessing others gives satisfaction. Trying to get your way always leads
to frustration and unhappiness)
- Trust Christ in all things (A genuine Christian lifestyle
includes forgiveness, blessing others, friends who encourage these
choices, careful spousal choice, and many other things that improve
health and happiness. The studies find little benefit for
self-proclaimed Christians who don't live the life.)
- Utilize quality preventative health care (brushing your
teeth and seeing the doctor about serious conditions
improves health)
- Marry someone wonderful (spousal choice is one of the
most significant decisions you can make for longevity, health, and
happiness)
- Love your wonderful spouse (choosing to love your spouse
has a significant effect on longevity, health, and
happiness)
- Make love to your wonderful spouse often (this improves
happiness & marriage, and affects health)
Modern American society can make
taking these steps difficult.
- Our pressurized schedules are the enemies of sleep and exercise
- Our food is the enemy of a healthy diet and waistline
- Our culture is the enemy of choosing a spouse wisely (If
you sleep around you will fall in love with someone chosen for the
wrong reasons. As a consequence, your children get parents who don't
stay together.)
- Our dominant humanist religion doesn't stress the Christian
lifestyle described as beneficial in all those studies.
Be aware of these societal problems
and take countermeasures. Live long and prosper.
